FMCG specific Excel training course open to all – book your place now

Due to popular demand I am running a day’s training course open to individuals.  If you’re an FMCG Account Manager or a Category Manager and you’d like to dramatically improve your Excel skills then this is the training course for you.

Using example retailer EPOS you will learn the most relevant Excel skills for your role which will enable you to work much more quickly and accurately.  You will recognise the data and be familiar working with it. This ensures that whatever you learn is relevant and you know how to apply it once you get back to your desk.

We will start with keyboard shortcuts to make you a much more efficient Excel user before moving onto some time saving techniques that will eliminate those painfully, long winded, repetitive tasks, saving you hours every month.

After that we’ll master the VLOOKUP formula before getting to grips with Pivot Tables.  The combination of these two tools will revolutionise the way you work and you’ll wonder how you ever coped without them.

The course will be held on Wednesday 17th June at the de Vere Venues Wokefield Park Hotel near Reading, 3.5 miles from Junction 11 of the M4.  With free parking or a 7 mile taxi ride from Reading station it’s an easily accessible location.

Training will run from 9:30am until 5:00pm with lunch included.  You’ll need to bring your laptop with you but all the training files and resources you need will be provided on the day along with a comprehensive set of notes to take away.

Places are strictly limited, to book yours email emily.john@franklinjohn.com

The course costs £300 + VAT (£360 all inclusive)

If you would be interested in a course in the North of England then please email and let me know.

Agenda Highlights:

Control & Shift Shortcuts – do you watch people zooming around their spreadsheets ridiculously quickly without ever touching their mouse and wonder ‘how do they do that’?

Separating and combining data – can you think of an instance where you’ve needed to extract a product code or a pack size from a full description?  Learn how to do this in seconds and then how to combine it all back together again

Sort & Filter – how to get the most out of these familiar functions….you don’t need to tick and untick all those boxes

Better use of formulas – understand what it means to put a $ in your formulas – how do they work and why use them

Auto filter – no more dragging and scrolling through huge spreadsheets to copy formulas

VLOOKUP – the most important formula you’ll use and you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it

Pivot Tables – what they are, why you should use them and how to use them

Formatting – so much time can be lost trying to format a spreadsheet in a particular way, I will share some tips to make this a lot quicker, you’ll also learn how to save chart templates so that you don’t have to recreate your favourite each time

This is your chance to ask questions you might think are stupid without your colleagues listening.  It will be a small group to allow maximum interaction between us with plenty of time to practice.
